About our Chapter
For 50 years, the San Fernando Valley chapter has held an annual charity ball. In November, our members and their guests gather at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for an elegant evening featuring the presentation of our debutantes. This event is not only an opportunity to create life long memories for our debutantes, but it is also our only fundraiser. All proceeds from the charity ball are donated to the philanthropies we support. In 2015, our Chapter raised a record $116,364 at our charity ball.
Our donations included: Almost $8000 to Guide Dogs for their recovery room renovation project; $25,000 to New Horizons for continued renovation of Sam’s Cafe and two restrooms; $25,000 to ONEgeneration for adult day care scholarships, in-home bathing and chore assistance; $42,000 to the Food Pantry for their food program for 12,000 local families; almost $5000 to California Wildlife Center for a new animal intensive care incubator; $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Club for new game equipment; and, $5000 to Operation Gratitude for their capital campaign to purchase a permanent home location, which will be memorialized by an American flag hanging in the lobby of their new home acknowledging that it is in recognition of NCL, Inc./SFV’s gift!
